WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO
On January 24th, 2007, John Paul was in an unexpected disaster that changed our lives forever. He was the passenger in a car accident where the vehicle lost control and crossed the median into oncoming traffic where they were then struck from behind by another vehicle.
John Paul Filippi suffered a severe brain stem injury. John Paul was in a coma for a short period of time and his current medical status has left him as a functional quadriplegic.
John Paul’s recovery has been long and hard on him and his family. Although John Paul does answer questions, he is not communicating freely or consistently.
Fast forward to today, John Paul is still alive and well but the recovery process not only took a lot of time, it created many expenses for the Filippi family needed to provide the proper care for John Paul. These expenses include: medical equipment, physical therapy, future medical procedures, modifications to the home, as well as in home nurses to keep John Paul healthy day to day.
WHERE DO THE PROCEEDS GO
The JP Recovery Foundation was designed to assist John Paul and his family many years ago as his expenses grow each year but he is not the only one who benefits from your donations.
The JP Recovery Foundation makes an annual donation to other families through scholarships for aviation and band at local colleges and high schools. For more information, please visit the JPRF Scholarship Page.

Thank you to everyone who came, donated, volunteered, and showed support! Our first Night at the Races Event was a success because of you!
In an effort to continue giving back, the JPRF was able to award our first annual Aviation Scholarship at the Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) in 2018. We have since added an additional nursing scholarship at CCBC.We have also added annual band and JP Strong scholarships for
Central Valley High School!
